Windrose, the Co-op Pirate Survival Game, Sets Sail into Early Access Next Week

Ahoy, me hearties! Windrose, the highly anticipated co-op pirate survival game that captured the attention of many during the Steam Next Fest, is ready to embark on its early access journey next week. Get ready to sing some shanties and prepare to face off against bizarre plague creatures and even a giant flower.

The developers behind Windrose, Windrose Crew, have joined forces with the renowned Palworld developers, Pocketpair, to bring this exciting game to life. They recently announced at the Triple I showcase that Windrose will be launching in early access on April 14th. The development team estimates that it will take approximately one and a half to two and a half years to fully prepare for a complete release.

The latest trailer for Windrose features all the classic pirate elements you’d expect. Gather your crew of custom buccaneers, commandeer a frigate, engage in naval battles, and even face the possibility of walking the plank. However, what sets Windrose apart is its unique gameplay mechanics once you reach land. While base building is a key feature, the trailer hints at “soulslite combat” against various enemies. The highlight, though, is a scene where pirates confront a massive pink flower, seemingly innocent and peaceful.

The trailer culminates in a dramatic showdown with the High Priestess, a mystical entity residing in the cursed swamplands. Despite the intense battles against historical figures and supernatural forces, the sight of pirates battling a harmless flower raises eyebrows. Windrose promises a captivating narrative that evolves from a struggle for survival to a grand tale of rival powers and ancient evils.

For those eager to experience Windrose before its official early access launch, a demo is currently available on Steam.
