OpenAI recently introduced a new Pro subscription priced at $100, aligning with Claude’s subscription model, which also offers a $100 plan alongside a $200 Max monthly option.

Previously, OpenAI had three subscription tiers available.

The first tier, Go, came in at around $8, followed by Plus at $20, and the highest tier at $200, marking a significant leap of $180.

In contrast, Anthropic does not offer an $8 subscription but positions its $100 plan between the $20 and $200 subscriptions. This strategy has proven effective for Anthropic as it caters specifically to the coding audience.

Recognizing the need to target coders and enterprises, OpenAI has unveiled ChatGPT Pro, tailored for individuals relying on AI for high-stakes, complex tasks, priced at $100.

Following this update, OpenAI’s subscription options now include:

  • Plus $20 – Ideal for lighter usage, offering access to advanced features like Codex and Deep Research for select projects throughout the week.
  • Pro $100 – Suited for real projects, providing advanced tools and models for consistent usage, with limits 5 times higher than Plus (and 10 times Codex usage compared to Plus for a limited period).
  • Pro $200 – Designed for intensive tasks, allowing users to run demanding workflows continuously across multiple projects, with limits 20 times higher than Plus.

All Pro plans come with advanced features, such as:

  • Pro models
  • Codex
  • Deep research
  • Image creation
  • Memory
  • File uploads

OpenAI states that the Pro plan also includes unlimited access to GPT-5 and legacy models, although certain “Terms of Use” restrictions apply, including account sharing policies.
