BMW Unveils One-Off M3 Touring 24H Race Car for Nürburgring

  • The BMW M3 Touring 24H is set to compete in the SPX class at the 2026 Nürburgring 24 Hours in May.
  • Based on the M4 GT3 EVO, the car features a new carbon fiber-reinforced plastic body with faux rear doors.
  • Development of the M3 Touring 24H took eight months to complete.

BMW recently unveiled the one-off M3 Touring 24H, a track-ready wagon built for racing rather than showmanship. This unique vehicle will participate in the upcoming 24 Hours of Nürburgring race, paying homage to iconic racing wagons of the past.

Utilizing the M4 GT3 EVO as a base enabled BMW M Motorsport to expedite the development process. However, the team had to create a new body using carbon fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP), resulting in a design with faux rear doors and shortened front doors for improved aerodynamics.

Featuring the P58 race engine, a 3.0-liter inline-six producing up to 590 horsepower and 700 Newton-meters of torque, the M3 Touring 24H is equipped with an X-trac six-speed sequential gearbox. While the street-legal M3 Touring comes with xDrive, the race car offers a two-wheel-drive option exclusively for racing purposes.

Constructed by BMW M Motorsport in just eight months, the M3 Touring 24H is longer and taller than its coupe counterpart, making it a true GT3-spec machine. Development began in September 2025, with validation occurring last month in preparation for its debut at the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie.

During the 24-hour endurance race on May 16–17, four BMW M works drivers will take turns driving the M3 Touring 24H. Fielded by Schubert Motorsport, the race car will compete in the SPX class alongside the #77 M4 GT3 EVO, ensuring an exciting showcase of BMW’s racing prowess.
