Navia Data Breach Impacts 2.7 Million Individuals

Navia Benefit Solutions, Inc. (Navia) has reported a data breach affecting approximately 2.7 million people, exposing their sensitive information to unauthorized individuals.

The breach occurred between December 22, 2025, and January 15, 2026, with Navia detecting suspicious activity on January 23, prompting an immediate response and investigation into the incident.

An examination revealed that hackers accessed and obtained specific data during the breach period, impacting a vast number of individuals. Navia, a provider of benefits administration services to over 10,000 U.S. employers, offers various solutions including Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), Health Savings Accounts (HSA), and Health Reimbursement Arrangements (HRA).

According to the company’s findings, the compromised information includes full names, dates of birth, Social Security Numbers (SSN), phone numbers, email addresses, and details about participation in various benefit programs offered by Navia.

Despite the breach not exposing claims or financial data, the disclosed information is sufficient for potential threat actors to carry out phishing and social engineering attacks against affected individuals.

Following the incident, Navia conducted a thorough review of its security protocols and data retention policies, aiming to strengthen its defenses against future breaches. The company has also informed federal law enforcement authorities about the breach.

Individuals affected by the breach will receive complimentary identity protection and credit monitoring services for 12 months from Kroll. Navia recommends affected customers to consider implementing additional security measures such as placing fraud alerts and security freezes on their credit files.

As of now, no ransomware group has claimed responsibility for the Navia data breach.
