Apple has officially announced its second major streaming deal, this time with the 2026 Formula 1 season, exclusively on Apple TV. The green flag has been raised, signaling the beginning of a new era for Formula 1 fans in the US. Starting with the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix airing on Saturday, March 7 at 8 p.m. PT, viewers in the US can enjoy all sessions live or on-demand. This marks the first significant broadcast in the groundbreaking F1 deal that Apple unveiled last October, making Apple TV the new home of F1 racing in the US.

For American fans, Apple TV will be the go-to platform to watch every Grand Prix, including races, practice sessions, qualifying rounds, and Sprints for the 2026 season and beyond until at least 2031. Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Services, expressed excitement about the partnership, highlighting the immersive experience designed for fans. The growth of Formula 1 in the US has been remarkable, and Apple aims to capitalize on this momentum by leveraging the power of Apple TV and the broader Apple ecosystem to enhance fan engagement with the sport.

All races will be available for streaming on Apple’s TV app in stunning 4K with Dolby Vision and 5.1 surround sound. Additionally, viewers can look forward to English and Spanish commentary, as well as access to up to 30 live feeds during all sessions. These feeds include the Driver Tracker for a comprehensive view of the race, real-time telemetry and timing, a mixed onboard feed that switches between onboard cameras as the race progresses, and Podium feeds that track drivers in P1, P2, and P3.

Apple is also introducing the Multiview experience, allowing fans to watch up to four live race feeds simultaneously on Apple TV 4K, iPad, or Apple Vision Pro. Users can customize their Multiview layout or choose from preconfigured options for a quick start. Beyond the races, Apple TV subscribers can explore additional programming related to the Grand Prix, such as Sky Sports broadcasts, rule changes, new cars, team updates, and highlights from the previous season.

Moreover, Apple TV subscribers will have access to F1 TV Premium at no extra cost, providing coverage of Formula 2, Formula 3, F1 Academy, and Porsche Supercup events on Apple TV, iPad, and iPhone. Season 8 of Netflix’s “Drive to Survive” will also be available on Apple TV, offering insights into the 2025 FIA Formula One World Championship. In a surprising collaboration, Apple will allow Netflix to simul-stream the Formula 1 Grand Prix Du Canada from Montreal on May 22.

The best part is that all these offerings are included in an Apple TV subscription without any additional charges. Unlike Apple’s previous venture into Major League Soccer, which required a separate MLS Season Pass, F1 content will be accessible from the start. The subscription price increased to $12.99 per month following a price adjustment last summer, but users can save by opting for an annual subscription at $99. Additionally, bundling Apple services in an Apple One package can lead to further savings.

Overall, Apple’s partnership with Formula 1 promises an exciting and comprehensive viewing experience for fans in the US. With a focus on quality, accessibility, and additional content, Apple TV is set to become the ultimate destination for Formula 1 enthusiasts.
