Ford has joined forces with Amazon to offer customers the convenience of browsing, financing, and purchasing certified pre-owned Ford vehicles online through Amazon Autos. This new platform allows customers to complete their purchase online and pick up their vehicle at a local Ford dealership.

Following in the footsteps of Hyundai, Ford is the second automaker to list its vehicles on Amazon’s online car buying site. However, Ford’s vehicles are currently only available in Los Angeles, Seattle, and Dallas, with plans to expand to more markets in the near future.

While Amazon serves as the intermediary between customers and dealerships, Ford’s dealers will still have significant control over online sales, including pricing, service maintenance, and delivery scheduling. Amazon aims to attract dealers by offering access to millions of Amazon customers through its platform.

All vehicles available on Amazon Autos are certified pre-owned and backed by Ford’s warranties and roadside assistance guarantees. Each vehicle undergoes inspection and reconditioning before being listed on the site, ensuring quality and customer satisfaction.

Robert Kaffl, executive director of Ford US sales and dealer relations, emphasized the aim of providing customers with a seamless car buying experience through the partnership with Amazon.

Traditionally, car shopping has been a frustrating experience for many consumers, with dealership interactions often cited as a major pain point. Tesla’s direct-to-consumer model has challenged the traditional dealership system, leading to changes in state laws regarding vehicle sales.
