Vercel CEO Guillermo Rauch Prepares for IPO as AI-driven Revenue Surges
The Rise of Vercel: A Leader in AI-Generated App Hosting
In the fast-paced world of technology, startups are constantly striving to stay ahead of the curve. While many struggle to adapt to the AI era, Vercel, a 10-year-old development tool and website hosting platform, is thriving in the age of AI-generated apps and agents.
Speaking at the HumanX conference in San Francisco, Vercel CEO Guillermo Rauch highlighted the company’s growth, stating, “When I started this company, only tens of millions of people could deploy. Now we’re seeing that everybody in the world can create an app.”
The influx of app creation by non-developers has significantly boosted Vercel’s business. The company’s annual recurring revenue (ARR) has soared from $100 million in early 2024 to a run rate of $340 million by February 2026.
With this remarkable growth, Rauch was questioned about Vercel’s plans for an initial public offering (IPO). He hinted at the company’s readiness for the public market, stating, “Vercel is very much a working public company.”
While the IPO market faced a slowdown due to fears of AI disruption, Vercel remains poised for a potential listing in the near future. Rauch emphasized the company’s unlimited potential in the expanding infrastructure market.

Rauch envisions Vercel as the go-to platform for hosting AI-generated apps, as these agents are becoming increasingly proficient in deployment. He predicts that agents will revolutionize software production by simplifying the creation of custom solutions.
Vercel’s value was last pegged at $9.3 billion following a successful Series F funding round. The company faces competition from industry giants like Cloudflare and Amazon Web Services but stands out with its unique offerings, including Vercel’s v0 coding tool for website and app development.
