YouTube Premium Price Increase: What You Need to Know
In the United States, YouTube Premium users will now have to pay more for their subscriptions. The price hike affects both individual and family plans, with the cost going up by $2 for standard individual accounts and up to $4 for the family plan. New accounts are already subject to the increased prices, while existing customers will see the changes rolling out soon.
Under the new pricing structure, the Individual plan now costs $15.99 per month, up from $13.99. The Family plan, which caters to five users, is now priced at $26.99, previously $22.99. Additionally, the Premium Lite option, which offers an ad-free experience without YouTube Music, has been increased to $8.99 per month from $7.99.
New subscribers will immediately be charged the updated prices, while current users will receive notifications regarding the price adjustment. According to 9to5Google, existing customers are being informed about the price increase via email, stating:
In order to maintain and enhance our services, we are raising your monthly subscription fee to $15.99. This decision was made to ensure continued improvements to Premium and to support the content creators and artists you enjoy on YouTube.
The new pricing will take effect starting from your billing date on June 7, 2026.
