Capcom recently announced the upcoming release of Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, an expanded version of the popular 2024 action RPG. Set to launch on Nintendo Switch 2 and other platforms on 9th October, this new expansion promises to bring exciting new content to fans of the franchise.
The Dark Arisen expansion will introduce significant enhancements to three key aspects of Dragon’s Dogma 2. Players can look forward to a brand-new story that will take them to the frosty northern region of Norgan. Additionally, the expansion will include 12 challenging dungeons to test players’ skills and a variety of customization options for character appearance, including new hairstyles and tattoos.
Game director Kento Kinoshita provided insight into the gameplay experience in the frigid lands of Norgan. Players will embark on expeditions to collect powerful Relics, which can be used to forge new weapons, skills, and armor. As they delve deeper into the region, they will uncover the mysteries of the Fallen Dragon and Eir, a mysterious woman on a quest of her own.
On the Nintendo Switch 2 platform, Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen will be available exclusively as a complete bundle. However, existing owners on other platforms will have the option to purchase the expansion separately. Newcomers who pre-order the full bundle on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC will receive immediate access to the base game.
Exciting news for eager fans, Capcom has confirmed that Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen will be playable at Gamescom 2026. Additionally, Title Update 3.2 is set to roll out in late August, bringing performance enhancements, improvements to the save system, adjustments to the Dragonsplague event, and various tweaks to gameplay mechanics and overall user experience.
