The Lost Spring: A Wilderings Adventure Begins in 2027

Herobeat Studios, an indie game developer, has unveiled the release window for Wilderings: The Lost Spring, their upcoming open-world action roguelite metroidvania game with creature collection elements.

Wilderings: The Lost Spring, previously named Rewilders: The Lost Spring, is scheduled to launch in spring 2027 for Windows PC (Steam) and various consoles.

Combining open-world exploration, fast-paced action, roguelite progression, and creature collecting, Wilderings: The Lost Spring follows Abi and her companion Rif in a world overtaken by darkness. Along the way, Abi encounters and befriends mysterious creatures called Hântu, which serve as her weapons, abilities, and means of traversal as she strives to rejuvenate the world.

The newest gamescom trailer immerses players in one of Wilderings: The Lost Spring’s most extreme environments yet: the Volcanic biome, a harsh landscape of rock, intense heat, and constant geological activity that may appear desolate at first glance but teems with life.

Plants, Hântu, and other creatures have adapted to thrive in this hostile environment, making use of the heat, minerals, and volcanic forces that define the region.

ENCOUNTER THE HÂNTU OF THE VOLCANIC REGION

The Volcanic Region introduces three new Hântu for Abi to discover and recruit. Razzle launches explosive projectiles that burn and multiply upon impact, Mokul summons pyroclastic rain that scorches entire areas, and Furioso hurls magma that spreads among nearby enemies. These additions provide players with new strategies to harness the region’s destructive power in battles.

CONFRONT RÖHE, THE MOTH BOSS

Gamescom also offers a first look at Röhe, the Moth Boss, a young hunter from the Frostlands who challenges Abi to a demanding battle in the Volcanic Region.

Set in a magma-lit arena, the battle tests Abi’s agility, combat prowess, and Hântu abilities through precise dodges, strategic attacks, and constant movement. Despite Röhe’s imposing size, players who adapt and persevere can emerge victorious.
