Understanding Battery Usage Summaries

Google has officially launched a new feature known as Battery Usage Summaries, initially available to Google Pixel 10 and Pixel 11 users through the latest AI Core update. This feature is distinct from the recently announced September Android Drop, which introduces five new functionalities.

Battery Usage Summaries aim to simplify the complex raw data related to your phone’s battery consumption into easily understandable insights. By accessing the Battery section in the Settings menu, users can now access a concise overview of their device’s battery usage patterns.

The summary highlights power-intensive apps that drain the battery quickly, giving users a heads-up on which applications may require optimization for better battery efficiency. Additionally, it provides insights into the user’s phone usage intensity compared to usual patterns.

Google emphasizes that the summary outputs are curated to showcase the most crucial information only, offering a user-friendly and straightforward approach to battery monitoring. Users of recent Google smartphones will have this feature enabled by default, with the option to disable it in the Settings menu under Battery & Charging > Battery Usage > Battery Usage Summaries.
