New Free DLC “On the Trail: Deep Water” Launching for Cairn on 29th October

The Game Bakers has announced the upcoming release of a free DLC for the popular climbing adventure game, Cairn. Titled “On the Trail: Deep Water,” this DLC is set to launch on 29th October, introducing exciting new content for players to enjoy.

One of the key features of this free DLC is the addition of three new locations to the game. While these new areas are smaller than Mt Kami, they come with a unique challenge – players will now have limited energy to complete their climbs. Additionally, mistakes and effort will tire out the players, requiring them to carefully plan their approach to each climb.

Players will also have the opportunity to master a new climbing style with the introduction of a new playable character, Marco. Unlike Aava, Marco is not as tall or flexible but possesses strong arms and a new climbot model, adding a fresh gameplay experience for Cairn enthusiasts.

In addition to the DLC, a new Free Roam mode will be available, allowing players to explore the full mountain of Kami as either Aava or Marco. This mode offers a more relaxed gameplay experience, perfect for those who want to immerse themselves in the stunning environments of Cairn.

“On the Trail: Deep Water” is the first of three planned free expansions for the game. Currently available for PS5 and PC, the DLC will also be released for Switch 2 in early 2027, expanding the player base and offering new opportunities for adventure.
