Anthropic is currently testing the mobile compatibility of Claude Cowork, enabling users to efficiently manage long-running Claude tasks directly from their smartphones.
Claude Cowork, developed by Anthropic, is primarily a desktop-focused agentic mode for Claude, offering some of Claude Code’s task-running capabilities for regular knowledge work.
Unlike Claude Code, which is tailored for coding and development tasks, Cowork allows for handling longer tasks, utilizing files, creating documents, generating spreadsheets, writing reports, and running in the background while progress is monitored.
During tests, Cowork proved to be beneficial for tasks involving documentation, image management, and storage partition organization.
For instance, when faced with a storage shortage while compiling a React Native app locally, Cowork efficiently scanned local folders in the partition, identifying large files consuming storage space.
Although Cowork has been primarily associated with Claude Desktop on macOS and Windows, screenshots hint at Anthropic’s plans for a dedicated mobile experience.

The provided screenshot indicates the ability to initiate and oversee tasks directly from a mobile device, while also monitoring progress from a phone, browser, or the Claude desktop app.
Anthropic emphasizes that work continues in the background even after the app is closed.
From the visuals, it is clear that Anthropic’s intention is not to transform Claude’s mobile application into a full-fledged desktop substitute.
Instead, Claude Cowork on mobile is envisioned as a remote control for Cowork operations on your PC.
This aligns with Anthropic’s current Cowork description, where Cowork operates directly on the user’s computer, offering Claude access to selected files.
While your phone may serve as a remote control for Cowork, the actual computational work still takes place on your computer.
Although Anthropic has not officially announced full mobile Cowork support, the existing screenshots hint at ongoing preparations for mobile integration within Claude.
