2027 Chevy Corvette Grand Sport debuts with a new 6.7L V8

All-New Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport Unveiled by General Motors

General Motors recently took the wraps off the latest Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport, showcasing its cutting-edge V8 engine that boasts record-breaking torque figures.

The unveiling also included the introduction of the Grand Sport X variant, featuring an innovative all-wheel drive system with a front-axle electric motor.

The powerhouse LS6 6.7-liter naturally aspirated V8 delivers an impressive 535 horsepower and 520 lb-ft of torque. It boasts a range of high-performance components including a 95 mm throttle body, tunnel ram intake, forged pistons and rods, and revised exhaust manifolds.

Power from the LS6 engine is channeled to the rear axle via an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The Grand Sport also features a quad center exhaust system, marking a significant milestone for pushrod V8 engines.

Standard equipment includes Magnetic Ride Control, while the Z52 Sport Performance Package offers a more aggressive setup, Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires, and J560 brakes sourced from the Corvette Z06.

For enthusiasts seeking ultimate track performance, the Z53 Track Performance Package comes with carbon ceramic brakes, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2R tires, a track-oriented chassis, and an aerodynamic package featuring carbon fiber components.

The Grand Sport X variant packs a mighty 721 horsepower and is equipped with carbon ceramic brakes, Magnetic Ride Control, and high-performance Michelin tires. With ‘Endurance’ and ‘Qualifying’ modes, along with a ‘Push-to-Pass’ button, this version of the Corvette offers unparalleled driving dynamics.
