Apple will reportedly allow other AI chatbots to plug into Siri

Apple’s iOS 27 Update to Offer Users Choice in AI Chatbot Integration with Siri

In the upcoming iOS 27 update, Apple is set to revolutionize the Siri experience by allowing users to select the AI chatbot they prefer to link with the virtual assistant. This exciting development comes from a recent report by Bloomberg‘s tech expert, Mark Gurman. Third-party chatbots such as Google’s Gemini and Anthropic’s Claude, available for download from the App Store, will soon have the capability to provide responses for Siri, much like the existing collaboration with OpenAI’s ChatGPT.

Introducing “Extensions” for Enhanced Siri Functionality

The new feature, known as “Extensions,” is poised to empower users with the ability to manage their preferred chatbot integrations with Siri across their iPhone, iPad, and Mac devices. As per the Bloomberg report, users will have the flexibility to enable or disable specific chatbots, tailoring their Siri experience to suit their preferences. These upcoming integrations will also extend to a standalone app that Apple is reportedly developing for its advanced Siri version, designed to streamline tasks seamlessly across various applications.
