Anjuna Security’s Resilience Amid Market Challenges

The year 2021 marked a period of rapid growth for Anjuna Security, as the venture-backed cybersecurity company expanded its team to around 75 employees in anticipation of continued success. However, the landscape shifted in 2022, presenting new obstacles for the company.

As the market conditions changed, Anjuna Security, like many other startups, found itself facing challenges with landing enterprise clients. This led to tough decisions, including two rounds of layoffs, as the company navigated financial constraints.

In the face of these challenges, the company focused on not only cutting costs but also on maintaining team morale and motivation. Ayal Yogev, the CEO and co-founder of Anjuna, shared insights on how the company weathered the storm by acting swiftly, showing compassion during layoffs, and learning from early mistakes.

Anjuna’s ability to endure the layoffs was attributed to its strong internal culture centered around the core value of “care.” This culture prioritized transparent communication internally and support for departing employees beyond severance packages.
