The Infiniti QX80 R-Spec: A High-Performance SUV Concept

The Infiniti QX80 is a luxury SUV that takes inspiration from the Nissan Patrol/Armada but offers a more upscale design both inside and out. Recently, a new concept has been unveiled at this year’s SEMA Show in Las Vegas, promising even more performance.

The Infiniti QX80 R-Spec is a concept that features the powerhouse of the Nissan GT-R – a twin-turbocharged 3.8-litre V6 engine that has been enhanced to produce a staggering 1000hp or 736kW. This is a significant upgrade from the standard version of the vehicle.

With modifications such as new turbochargers, intercoolers, and exhaust manifolds, the QX80 R-Spec is a beast on the road. It also boasts an upgraded fuel system to support its immense power output.

While the torque figure has not been disclosed, the performance numbers speak for themselves. The Patrol Nismo, which is currently the most powerful model in the lineup, offers 369kW of power and 700Nm of torque – making the QX80 R-Spec a true powerhouse.

Not only does the QX80 R-Spec deliver exceptional performance, but it also features top-of-the-line components to ensure a thrilling driving experience. The SUV is equipped with carbon ceramic brakes from the GT-R, custom coilover suspension, Eibach ERS springs, and custom MCS three-way external reservoir coilovers.

Additionally, the concept showcases a custom body kit that gives the vehicle a wider stance and improved aerodynamics. The striking design is further enhanced by a color-shifting wrap that pays homage to iconic GT-R models.

Infiniti has hinted at the possibility of a new performance flagship for the QX80 line, indicating a shift towards high-performance variants that offer a broader range of capabilities for enthusiasts. The brand’s dedication to pushing boundaries is evident in the creation of the QX80 R-Spec.
