Nexus Mods’ Windows Mod Manager to Introduce Steam Machine and Steam Deck Compatibility Soon
Nexus Mods Commits to Adding SteamOS Support to Vortex Mod Manager
Nexus Mods, known for being the premier host of unofficial Skyrim additions, has announced their plans to bring SteamOS support to their mod manager, Vortex. This move will allow users to enjoy modded playthroughs on the go with devices like the Steam Machine and Steam Deck.
In a recent post outlining their goals for the year, Nexus Mods confirmed their commitment to integrating SteamOS support into Vortex. This decision comes after the discontinuation of the multiplatform Nexus Mods App, with the team now focusing on enhancing Vortex, their Windows-only mod manager.
Product manager Iluviel stated, “We’ll be targeting vanilla Steam hardware like the Steam Deck and Steam Machine. We won’t be officially supporting any other configurations, but as Vortex is an open-source project, community developers will have the freedom to extend support for their preferred Linux distros.”
This development is sure to excite enthusiasts like James, who may find themselves engaging in more conversations about modding possibilities on a regular basis. The prospect of exploring new mods and tweaking gameplay experiences is a thrilling one for many gamers.
Looking ahead, Nexus Mods plans to focus on enhancing the user experience of Vortex. They aim to modernize the interface, streamline navigation, simplify game management, and introduce more intuitive controls for load orders. These improvements will make the modding process smoother and more user-friendly for all players.
As Nexus Mods continues to evolve and innovate, users can expect a cleaner and more responsive interface that incorporates design lessons learned from previous projects. The team is dedicated to providing a top-notch experience for modders and gamers alike.
With these exciting updates on the horizon, the future looks bright for Nexus Mods and their dedicated community of modding enthusiasts. Stay tuned for more news and enhancements to the Vortex mod manager in the coming months.
