iOS 27: Find My adds new ways to hide your location, more

Apple’s iOS 27 update brings a host of new features to various apps, including Messages, Apple Music, Wallet, and more. Among these updates, the Find My app has also received significant changes. Here is a breakdown of what’s new in Find My with the iOS 27 update.

One of the key changes in Find My with iOS 27 is the introduction of more flexible sharing options. Users now have greater control over sharing their location with others, allowing them to set custom durations or share until a specific date and time. Additionally, users can pause sharing with individuals at any time, providing more privacy and control over their location information.

A notable addition to the sharing options is the ability to hide your location from specific individuals without alerting them. This feature allows users to pause, stop, or resume sharing their location without the other person receiving any notifications. In the Find My app, users will see a “Hide Location” toggle on each person’s card, and if sharing is paused, the recipient will see a “No Location Found” message in their app.

In terms of user interface enhancements, Find My in iOS 27 has been updated with a new Liquid Glass interface. The app now features a redesigned tab bar that aligns with Apple’s other apps, providing a more cohesive user experience. Additionally, the app now displays more specific location information on the main page, eliminating the need to tap on each person to view their exact location.

Further UI improvements include new iconography, such as an AirTag-style icon for the “Items” tab. These visual updates enhance the overall user experience and make it easier to navigate the app.
