Milan’s Cosmico Secures €12 Million Funding, Acquires Flatmates to Enhance Future of Work Platform
Cosmico, a thriving Milan-based company operating in the Future of Work sector, has recently secured a substantial €12 million funding round (a mix of equity and debt) led by P101 SGR. This funding round also saw the continued support of longstanding investors, including Prana Venture.
In addition to this financial accomplishment, Cosmico has successfully completed the acquisition of Flatmates, a creator agency co-founded by Michele Pagani and Marcello Ascani. Flatmates specializes in applying the Talent-as-a-Service model to the creator economy in Italy, Spain, and the USA.
Francesco Marino, the CEO and co-founder of the Cosmico Group, expressed his excitement over the company’s growth and evolution. He stated, “Cosmico has evolved from a scale-up with a single product to a Future of Work holding company with five verticals. The company’s rapid growth is evident, with €20 million already secured in the first four months of the year. Our goal is to reach €100 million by 2028.”
Founded in 2020 by Francesco Marino, Simone Tornabene, and Matteo Roversi, Cosmico is a prominent European scale-up operating in the Future of Work space. The company’s ecosystem now consists of four key verticals: Cosmico (Talent-as-a-Service for digital professionals), Flatmates (Talent-as-a-Service for the creator economy), Creative Harbour (Community-as-a-Service for employee engagement), and Play New (Talent Process Design for building teams of SuperAgents). This strategic framework will guide future acquisitions and expansion.
Cosmico’s ambitious growth plans include three new acquisitions by the end of 2026, aimed at expanding the company’s presence in the Future of Work sector and strengthening existing business units through competitor acquisitions. The company’s M&A strategy targets both Italy and Spain, where dedicated operating companies are already established.
Flatmates, founded in 2021, boasts a diverse client portfolio, including renowned brands such as Ducati, NordVPN, Google, Xiaomi, Trade Republic, and Generali. With a focus on talent representation, brand-creator talent matching, content production, and proprietary editorial channels, Flatmates has positioned itself as a leader in the creator economy. The transition to full ownership by Cosmico marks a significant milestone in Flatmates’ growth trajectory.
Cosmico’s impressive financial performance in 2025, with €24 million in revenue (a 109% year-over-year increase), sets the stage for continued success in 2026. The company has already secured €20 million in sales in the first four months of the year, with a year-end revenue target of €40 million. With a growing community of digital professionals and a roster of esteemed clients, Cosmico is on track to achieve its ambitious goal of reaching €100 million in revenue by 2028.
With over 35,000 digital professionals, 300 clients, and a dedicated team in Milan and Madrid, Cosmico is well-positioned for further growth and expansion in the dynamic Future of Work sector.
In summary, Cosmico’s recent funding round, strategic acquisitions, and impressive financial performance demonstrate the company’s commitment to innovation and growth in the evolving Future of Work landscape. As Cosmico continues to expand its presence and offerings, it remains a key player in shaping the future of work.
