A year after their last raise, Germany’s Flip raises €22 million to scale its frontline AI platform

Stuttgart-based Employee Experience Platform Raises €22 Million to Advance AI Infrastructure for Frontline Workers

Flip, a Stuttgart-based employee experience platform catering to frontline workers, has successfully secured €22 million (£19 million) in funding. The primary goal of this funding round is to strengthen the platform’s AI infrastructure and enhance knowledge development for frontline roles.

The latest funding round was supported by existing investors Notion Capital and HV Capital, who are increasing their investment in the software company. Additionally, L-Bank, the development bank of the state of Baden-Württemberg, has joined as a new investor in this round.

This funding milestone follows Flip’s previous successful funding rounds, including a €25 million Series A extension in 2025 and a raise of over €26.5 million in 2022.

Benedikt Brand, co-founder and CEO of Flip, highlighted the significance of AI in frontline roles, stating, “AI has long been part of everyday life in the office but, on the assembly line, in stores, or in care settings, it has barely arrived. This isn’t due to a lack of interest, but because many frontline organizations lack the digital identity and infrastructure required for AI to make a difference in daily operational work. That is exactly the gap Flip closes: with secure digital identity, AI agents, and custom-generated frontline apps on a single platform.”

Flip’s successful funding round aligns with the trend of increased investment in European software solutions tailored for frontline and deskless workforces.

In 2026, notable funding rounds in this sector included €200 million for Paris-based Skello, €18.09 million for Madrid-based Orbio, €11 million for Karlsruhe-based Nesto, over €5 million for Berlin-based Elephant Company, €4 million for Bounti, and €1.6 million for Ireland’s HR Duo, with the three German companies providing direct same-country comparables. Collectively, these rounds represent more than €239 million in disclosed funding, with Flip’s contribution raising the total to over €261 million.

Jos White, General Partner at Notion Capital, expressed confidence in Flip’s trajectory, stating, “We’ve backed Flip since 2022, and over that time we’ve watched the team build a leading position in the enterprise market, both within Europe and the US. That we are doubling down reflects our conviction that Flip is playing a defining role in shaping the category of AI for frontline teams.”

Established in 2018, Flip offers a comprehensive platform that integrates communication, workflows, digital identity, and AI in a single app, catering to the 80% of employees who do not work at a traditional desk.

Notable companies currently utilizing Flip’s software include Bosch, REWE Group, SIXT, TEDi, FORVIA HELLA, Greif, and Europart.

Flip’s success is evident in its pilot rollout with Greif, which reported an impressive 85% adoption rate and sustained 74% weekly active users. Building on this success, Flip has expanded its platform to over 100 sites across 15 countries.

Addressing the disparity in AI skills among frontline workers, Flip aims to position its AI app builder ‘Flip Fusion’ as a catalyst for growth. By simplifying the process of generating custom frontline apps in real time, tailored to specific contexts, Flip aims to bridge the digital gap for deskless workers.

A new feature, Frontline Identity, eliminates the need for a corporate email address, facilitating easier digital access for deskless workers facing barriers to employer systems.

Benedikt emphasized the importance of inclusive AI adoption, stating, “We want to see a world where AI leaves no employee behind. This is why we are building the digital foundation companies need to bring their operational workforce into the AI era. After all, AI will only unlock its greatest economic value once it reaches every employee, not just those at a desk.”
