Naratix Secures €1 Million Seed Round to Accelerate Growth and Expand into New Markets
Bucharest-based Naratix, a Romanian startup specializing in building critical infrastructure for global eCommerce companies, has recently announced the successful closing of a €1 million Seed round. The funding will support the company in accelerating its growth and entering new markets.
The Seed round was led by Early Game Ventures, a venture capital fund capitalized by the Recovery Equity Fund and managed by the European Investment Fund. The funding was also supported by the PNRR within the Next Generation EU.
CEO and co-founder of Naratix, Chris Orășanu, stated, “Essentially, Naratix is building the largest structured product database in Europe, with the goal of indexing 1 billion products. This strategic asset powers not only current commerce but also the future of AI-assisted shopping.”
Naratix’s funding announcement aligns with a trend in Europe where startups focusing on the infrastructure layer of digital commerce have been raising early-stage and Series A rounds. Companies like Cernel, Kopa.ai, nFuse, and Replenit have attracted investor interest with their AI-driven solutions for eCommerce data management and retail decision-making.
Partner at Early Game Ventures, Dan Călugăreanu, commented, “What Stripe built for online payments, Naratix is building for product data in eCommerce: the essential infrastructure for search, recommendations, and conversions. I believe this team has the expertise to revolutionize how the industry handles product data.”
Established in 2023, Naratix is currently operational in over 30 countries across four continents and serves more than 10 enterprise clients. The company aims to revolutionize digital commerce by developing a sophisticated system that combines AI agents with heuristic algorithms.
Naratix’s platform transforms raw and incomplete product information from online stores and marketplaces into structured, enriched data at scale, ensuring relevance for buyers. This is crucial as product descriptions often vary between suppliers, requiring retailers and marketplaces to process vast amounts of product data with different formats and inconsistencies.
With native integrations with platforms like VTEX, Mirakl, and Shopware, Naratix can cater to marketplaces with millions of products, enterprise retailers, and global brands while meeting EU regulations on product data.
The immediate focus for Naratix is to strengthen its presence in European markets such as France, Germany, Poland, Slovenia, Greece, and Romania, as well as Southeast Asian countries like Singapore, Indonesia, and Malaysia. The company also plans to expand into the United States and other major global markets in the near future.
The funds raised in this round will be dedicated to accelerating Naratix’s growth. The company is actively recruiting specialists with experience in global eCommerce ecosystems to help establish Naratix as the standard for product data worldwide.
