A Leaked Wave of GTA 6 Gameplay Floods the Internet
A surge of leaked GTA 6 gameplay footage is making its way across the web, only to be swiftly removed due to copyright strikes, likely from Rockstar Games and Take Two. While unconfirmed, these leaks give weight to their authenticity.
Update 10PM – Enhanced Sourcing.
Numerous video clips have surfaced, sparking suspicions of AI-generated content, fakes, or resurfaced from older leaks. Despite digital takedowns, social media is brimming with these clips. According to Insider-Gaming, there are reports of ongoing preview playtests, though the connection remains uncertain.
One clip showcases a basketball minigame centered on boosting a ‘focus’ stat by making shots. Another exhibits a driving sequence, featuring a fuel gauge in the car, followed by a scuffle as Jason crashes.
All of this unfolds just before the scheduled gameplay reveal on August 27th, with an unusual six-hour exclusivity window on Netflix before hitting YouTube.
The group behind the leaks blames Rockstar for the absence of a physical disc release, digital pre-orders, and vows to continue posting until an apology is issued.
While this may deviate from Rockstar’s plans, it is unlikely to harm the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI launch on November 19th, expected to be a monumental media event after years of anticipation. Take Two’s confidence in opting for a digital-only release reflects the industry trend, likely aligning with Sony’s decision to cease physical media production by 2028.
