Apple enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting the release of new products this fall, with September shaping up to be an eventful month for the tech giant. The lineup includes the highly anticipated iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and a foldable iPhone (dubbed the “iPhone Ultra”), as well as the new Apple Watch Series 12, Apple Watch Ultra 4, Apple TV 4K, and possibly even a HomePod mini. It seems like there will be something for everyone to look forward to.

Rumors suggest that customers should prepare for potentially long delivery wait times right from the start. Additionally, there are now tentative dates for the September Apple event and the pre-order date for the iPhone 18 Pro series and foldable iPhone. Make sure to mark your calendars and have your finances in order.

According to reliable sources like Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman, Apple’s fall event, where new products will be officially unveiled, is likely to take place on Wednesday, September 9. Traditionally, this event is held on a Tuesday in the second week of September, but due to Labor Day falling on September 7 and being a popular travel holiday, Apple is expected to shift it to Wednesday this time.

The second week of September holds another significant date that Apple will likely acknowledge. Typically, the pre-order date for new iPhones is the Friday following the event. This year, that would fall on Friday, September 11. However, in light of the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, Apple is expected to delay the pre-order date for the foldable iPhone and iPhone 18 Pro to Saturday, September 12.

This move echoes Apple’s approach with the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus launch in 2015, the last time September 11 coincided with the Friday after an Apple event and the only instance in the past fifteen years where pre-orders began on a Saturday.

Usually, the official release date for new iPhones is one week after the pre-order date. This marks the end of the pre-order period and signifies when the product is available for purchase, delivery, and in-store pickup. If Gurman’s information is accurate, the release date for the iPhone 18 Pro is likely set for Friday, September 18. While there is a slight possibility of a delay to the following Saturday, it would be unprecedented. In 2015, the iPhone 6s models hit stores on Friday, September 18.

As for the launch date of the foldable iPhone, it might not happen until October or later. Speculation suggests that production and supply chain challenges could push back its availability to October or beyond. However, Apple tends to stick to tradition, so there’s a chance it could coincide with the iPhone 18 Pro release. If rumors hold true, the standard (non-Pro) iPhone 18 may not be released until spring 2027, as part of a new strategy to launch it alongside the iPhone 18e.

If you’re eyeing the new iPhone 18 Pro or foldable iPhone “Ultra,” it’s time to start planning. Securing a spot at the top of the pre-order list will likely be competitive. With uncertainties surrounding supply chain issues, the waiting time for orders is unpredictable. Best of luck!
