Building on the success of the Countryman Rugged Edition in South Africa and the Adventure Packages in the United States, MINI is now ready to unveil a specialized edition designed for adventure seekers. The upcoming release promises to elevate the compact crossover with rugged enhancements.

The new Countryman variant, spotted in the Rocky Mountains, showcases robust features including all-terrain tires, enhanced suspension, and potential all-wheel drive capabilities. The vehicle’s exterior hints at a cargo box, a trailer hitch, and an electrical trailer connector.

MINI’s Adventure-Ready Countryman Comes with Gasoline Engine

The rugged Countryman variant, distinguished from the John Cooper Works models, is powered by a gasoline engine as indicated by the visible radiator in the front bumper. MINI’s strategic moves suggest a keen interest in the off-road market.

Design chief Holger Hampf’s comments on the trend towards outdoor lifestyles and the brand’s commitment to adventure-focused models underscore MINI’s evolving direction.

“One thing that I can point out is the trend of outdoor activity and independence—freedom that the car has always given us. You will certainly see some of that in the next couple of years.”

The anticipated price for the rugged Countryman special edition is likely to exceed $40,000, considering additional features like all-terrain tires, suspension upgrades, and the Favoured Style package.
