Sony Announces Release Date for God of War Laufey

Sony has officially confirmed that the highly anticipated game, God of War Laufey, will be released on February 16, 2027. The announcement was made through a social media post on the official PlayStation account, accompanied by a 30-second video revealing the game’s logo and release date. Players can already wishlist God of War Laufey on the PlayStation Store.

While fans were aware that the game would be released in 2027, the early release date in February came as a pleasant surprise. It was also confirmed earlier that God of War Laufey would have a physical disc release, making it one of the last PS5 exclusive games to receive a physical edition before Sony ceases disc printing in 2028.

God of War Laufey follows the story of Kratos’ wife, Faye, also known as Laufey the Just. After her death, she awakens in a different realm called the Everywhen, which serves as an afterlife for gods from various religions. In this realm, she encounters Sekhmet from Egyptian mythology and Begtse, the Tibetan god of war, who imprison her. During her captivity, she befriends a talking gelatinous cube named Phranque and a sword’s ribbons named Rue, both of whom become her allies as she strives to regain her powers and unravel the mysteries surrounding her situation.
