Samsung One UI 9 Delivers Long-Awaited Call Feature Upgrade
Revolutionizing Phone Calls: Samsung’s One UI 9 Update
In today’s digital age, traditional phone calls have taken a back seat in favor of third-party messaging services like WhatsApp. The constant juggling between multiple apps for calls can be cumbersome and inefficient.
However, Samsung’s latest innovation, One UI 9, promises to change the game.
Enhanced Call Management
The public beta release of One UI 9 is now available for Galaxy S26 series users, offering a significant update to the dialer. For the first time, users will have the ability to access call history from third-party apps directly within the native Phone app.
This feature supports popular platforms like WhatsApp and Google Meet, providing a seamless calling experience. This integration is a welcome change for individuals who heavily rely on WhatsApp for communication.
Seamless Integration with Third-Party Apps
The screenshot shared by SamMobile highlights a prominent Google Meet icon within the call information, hinting at the potential for initiating calls with a single tap. This functionality could significantly streamline communication processes.
While the feature is expected to be enabled by default, users can customize or disable it by accessing Settings > Other call settings > Other calling apps.
Limitations and Future Prospects
Despite its benefits, the call history integration feature in One UI 9 currently excludes key platforms like Facebook Messenger, Telegram, Signal, Discord, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams. This limitation may hinder the comprehensive tracking of call activities for some users.
Notably, the absence of Messenger is a significant drawback, emphasizing the need for broader app compatibility in future updates. It is hoped that Samsung will expand support to include more popular communication platforms.

Future Prospects and Availability
While the One UI 9 beta is currently limited to Galaxy S26 devices, it is expected to expand to other Samsung Galaxy models soon. The full version is anticipated to launch on upcoming foldable devices like the Galaxy Z Flip 8 series, Z Fold 8, and Z Fold Wide in July.
