Ubisoft Announces Major Support Plan for Year 8 of The Division 2
Ubisoft is marking the 10th anniversary of The Division series with a significant support plan for Year 8 of The Division 2. The company has revealed exciting new updates, including a new Incursion raid, new DLC, and the long-awaited addition of crossplay.
The Anniversary Season of content has already begun, offering players a special event pass with rewards inspired by other Tom Clancy games. Additionally, players can enjoy a thematic return to New York with free access to the Warlords of New York expansion, now wrapped up in a Realism mode. This mode enhances the gaming experience by reducing the UI, adjusting gear and weapon bonuses based on weight, enabling ammo recovery from enemies, and increasing skill cooldowns.
Year 8 will continue with a series of updates starting in April with the Rise Up season. This update will include PvP-focused balancing updates, crossplay functionality across platforms, the return of Classified Assignments with new story-driven missions, a brand-new Incursion raid, the reintroduction of the winter survival mode titled “Survivors,” and the promise of an all-new DLC later in the year.
The Division 2 has been a unique addition to Ubisoft’s gaming portfolio. Despite transitioning from the snowy streets of New York to the hot streets of Washington DC, the game has retained a dedicated player base over the years. While support for the game had decreased, Ubisoft has continued to provide regular updates, although major expansions were limited. The Division Heartland, a free-to-play spin-off announced in 2020, was recently canceled after four years of development. However, fans can look forward to The Division Resurgence, a mobile game set to launch on March 31st, and the highly anticipated sequel, The Division 3, currently in development.
