iOS 27 adding new way to manage your Safari tabs, per report

Ahead of Apple’s WWDC event, reports suggest that iOS 27 will introduce a new Safari feature aimed at improving tab management and organization.

In the latest Power On newsletter from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, it is revealed that iOS 27 will include an “Organize Tabs” feature within Safari.

This new functionality will be accessible through a central button that allows users to navigate between tab groups. Within this menu, users can opt for the “Organize Tabs” feature and configure whether tabs should be automatically grouped.

By selecting the automatic grouping option, tabs will be categorized based on the topics users browse. While not explicitly labeled as an AI enhancement, the feature is expected to utilize some form of artificial intelligence.

Initial references to this feature surfaced in a code leak last month, with Gurman’s report providing further validation of its inclusion in iOS 27.

iOS 27 is anticipated to prioritize stability enhancements and new AI capabilities, with leaks hinting at additional features beyond these areas. For instance, Apple Wallet may introduce a “Create a Pass” feature for converting physical passes into digital equivalents.
