The 2027 BMW M3 CS: A Fitting Farewell to a Legendary Sports Sedan

The current generation of the BMW M3 (G80) is nearing the end of its production run, but before it bids adieu, BMW has introduced a special edition variant of this iconic sports sedan.

Introducing the 2027 BMW M3 CS, a model that may look familiar on the outside but comes with a significant update under the hood. The latest iteration now features a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard, a departure from the previous 8-speed automatic transmission. This change has led to the nickname “Handschalter,” meaning “hand shift.”

Powering the 2027 BMW M3 CS is a potent 3.0-liter twin-turbo straight-six engine that pumps out 473 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque. This power is transferred to the rear wheels through the manual gearbox. The car boasts impressive performance figures, with a 0-62 mph sprint time of 4.2 seconds and a top speed of 180 mph.

Not just powerful, the 2027 BMW M3 CS is also lighter and more agile than its standard counterpart. BMW has utilized carbon-fibre reinforced plastic extensively to reduce weight, along with lightweight carbon fiber bucket seats, a titanium exhaust muffler, and forged wheels.

For enthusiasts in the United States, the price of the ultimate BMW M3 CS starts at $108,450, offering a blend of power, performance, and exclusivity in one compelling package.
