When it comes to the competitive world of smartphones, Xiaomi, Huawei, and Motorola are players to watch. However, in the UK and US markets, the battle for dominance is primarily between Apple and Samsung, both of which hold significant shares in these regions.

My experience with the Galaxy Z Fold 8 left me thoroughly impressed, and our reviewer, Luke Baker, echoed my sentiments in his comprehensive review. Despite its strengths, there are areas where the device could be further enhanced.

While Apple has made strides in certain aspects, there are still some features missing (such as the telephoto camera) that leave me envious of three standout functionalities on the iPhone Duo that Samsung overlooked.

Durable Design

A foldable phone without adequate dust resistance can be a cause for concern. The vulnerability of the hinge to tiny particles poses a risk of potential damage over time.

Following a mishap with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 at the beach, I had hoped that the Fold 8 would address this issue. However, with its IP48 rating, it remains susceptible to particles smaller than 1mm, including sand grains.

Conversely, the iPhone Duo stands out as one of the few folding phone lines with an IP68 rating, ensuring superior dust protection. This level of durability is consistent with leading smartphones on the market, making it virtually dust-proof.
