Audi A6 Sportback E-Tron Sets New Guinness World Record for Longest Electric Car Journey on a Single Charge

An extraordinary milestone has been achieved by the Audi A6 Sportback E-Tron, which recently covered an impressive distance of 831 miles (1,338 km) on just one full charge. This remarkable achievement has officially secured a new Guinness World Record for the longest journey ever completed by a production car on electric power alone.

The incredible feat was accomplished by Polish rally driver Miko Marczyk, who undertook the challenging task of driving the Audi A6 E-Tron on public roads, navigating through normal traffic conditions and even enduring rush-hour congestion. The record-breaking journey commenced in Poland at 1:55 AM on September 11 and lasted for over 45 hours until the battery finally depleted.

This achievement is particularly impressive considering that the Audi A6 Sportback E-Tron boasts an official WLTP range of up to 483 miles (777 km). Marczyk was able to surpass this figure by an astounding 72%, achieving an average energy consumption of just 7.09 kWh per 100 km.

The exceptional efficiency of the Audi A6 E-Tron was aided by its sleek design featuring a drag coefficient of 0.21, as well as a high-capacity battery offering 94.9 kWh of usable energy. Additionally, the car’s ability to recuperate energy at a rate of up to 220 kW during braking further optimized its range.

Marczyk, known for his expertise in hypermiling techniques, has previously set a record by driving a diesel Skoda Superb for an astonishing 1,759 miles (2,831 km) on a single tank of fuel. This latest accomplishment further solidifies his reputation as a master of efficient driving practices.
