Dealing with “Severe Standby Battery Drain”

One of the primary concerns that users are facing is excessive battery drain while their Samsung phones are in standby mode, such as when the device is locked but not turned off.

A user in the Samsung Community forums reported a significant shift in their S25 Ultra’s battery performance following an update. The battery percentage plummeted from 85% to just over 5% in less than 12 hours, despite minimal usage of only 2 hours and 9 minutes.

Another forum post highlighted similar issues with the S24 Ultra, describing it as experiencing “significant battery drain.”

Feedback from comments on the forum post and Reddit threads indicates that this problem is widespread among users.

Some recommended solutions include clearing the cache partition, optimizing unused apps for deep sleep mode, and testing safe mode to identify any problematic apps. Additionally, adjusting battery protection settings to the maximum, disabling wireless power sharing, turning off nearby device scanning, and deactivating RAM Plus settings may help alleviate the battery drain issue.
