Ray Maker from DC Rainmaker recently confirmed Garmin’s reversal on their decision to restrict a key feature of the Cirqa fitness tracker to Connect+ users only. This move was criticized as contradictory to Garmin’s marketing emphasizing “no subscription required” for the Cirqa.

The Garmin Cirqa is positioned as a more affordable alternative to the Whoop Strap, which requires an annual subscription starting at £169/$199.

The Cirqa faces competition from the Fitbit Air, a slimmer and more affordable alternative to the Whoop Strap. While the Fitbit Air can function without a subscription, opting for the Google Health Coach tier enhances the user experience with AI-driven insights.

In contrast, the Cirqa offers Garmin’s core metrics upfront for £179.99/$199.99, including Sleep Score, Training Readiness, and workout data, except for live HRM initially.

Those looking to purchase a Cirqa may face delays due to limited availability.
