xiaomi 18 fold official 2

When it comes to the latest tech releases, one can’t help but notice the buzz surrounding Xiaomi’s newest innovation, the 18 Fold. As an avid Android user, I must admit that it’s challenging to contain my excitement, especially considering the remarkable features it boasts.

While the 18 Fold is currently exclusive to China, it sets a new standard for wide foldable devices. In comparison to the rumored foldable iPhone and Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 8, Xiaomi’s offering excels in three crucial areas that truly set it apart.

The Importance of Camera Quality

The iPhone 17 Pro Max has cemented its reputation as one of the top camera phones globally, known for its exceptional performance in both photography and videography. With the upcoming release of the iPhone 18 Pro Max, we can expect even further enhancements in this area.

In contrast, Apple seems to have made significant compromises with its more expensive offering, the iPhone Ultra. Reports suggest that the device will forego the rear telephoto lens altogether, opting for a 48MP main lens and a 48MP ultrawide lens instead.

The absence of a telephoto sensor is a critical omission, especially for zoom photography. The telephoto lens on the 17 Pro Max delivers optical quality zoom up to 4x magnification, and it also plays a vital role in portrait photography by enhancing depth perception.

By omitting this essential feature, Apple appears to downplay the significance of zoom capabilities in smartphones. However, anyone who has experienced the thrill of capturing distant moments at events like the ones held at London’s O2 Arena would argue otherwise.
