Sneak Peek: 2027 Cupra Raval EV Unveiled in Action-Packed Hot Hatch Spy Shots
The upcoming 2027 Cupra Raval electric hatchback has been spotted in Europe prior to its official debut. Images shared online by Wilco Blok and CocheSpias reveal two uncovered Ravals charging at what seems to be a Volkswagen Group facility, with Porsche branding visible on the ground.
Initially showcased as the UrbanRebel concept in 2021, the Raval is anticipated to be positioned below the Born hatchback. It is built on the same MEB+ platform as the Skoda Epiq and Volkswagen ID. Polo city cars.
The Raval is set to be the sportiest among the trio, sitting approximately 15mm lower on a “sport chassis” according to Cupra. The electric hatch measures 4046mm in length, 1784mm in width, and 1518mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2600mm, similar to the current petrol-powered Volkswagen Polo.
Cupra will offer a hotter VZ variant of the Raval, featuring adaptive sports suspension, an ESC Off mode, and power-adjustable CUPBucket seats. The Raval VZ will also receive styling enhancements such as a rear diffuser, a rear spoiler, and 19-inch alloy wheels.
Equipped with a 166kW electric motor, the Raval will drive the front wheels through a limited-slip differential. Inside, the vehicle will boast a digital instrument cluster and a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
While complete specifications have not yet been disclosed, the concept was reported to accelerate from 0-100km/h in 6.9 seconds, matching the related ID.Polo GTI. The concept also boasted a driving range of 439 kilometers.
Cupra has confirmed that the Raval will be offered with 38kWh and 56kWh batteries, similar to those in the ID.Polo. Production will take place alongside Volkswagen at a facility in Martorell, Spain.
“We are entering a historic year,” said Markus Haupt, Cupra CEO. “In Martorell, the epicenter of future mobility, we are in the final phase of series production of the Cupra Raval, the car that will mark the beginning of a new era for the brand.”
