Introducing Amazon’s Fire TV Stick 4K Plus: The Next Level of Streaming Clarity

Amazon’s Fire TV Stick 4K is now the 4K Plus, which is still confusing

Amazon’s Confusing Lineup of 4K Fire TV Sticks

The recent introduction of Amazon’s 4K Select Fire TV Stick has left consumers scratching their heads. With a lineup of nearly identical devices, including the 4K Plus and 4K Max, the name change alone is not enough to clarify the differences between them. This confusion is further exacerbated by the fact that Amazon still offers three 4K-ready sticks priced within $10 of each other.

The 4K Select, with half the RAM of its counterparts, is likely to be slower in performance, making navigation between menus and apps a less than seamless experience. While the device has not been personally tested, it raises the question of whether there is any real incentive to purchase it, especially when considering the frequent discounts on the higher-end 4K models. Currently, the superior 4K Max can be purchased for $34.99 with a coupon code, making it a more attractive option.

For existing owners of the Fire TV Stick 4K, there is no compelling reason to upgrade to the new 4K Select. Beyond superficial packaging changes, the core functionality remains unchanged, making it a redundant purchase for those already satisfied with their current device.
