Qevlar AI Secures €25.8 Million to Revolutionize Security Operations Centre Investigations with Agentic AI
Qevlar AI is a cutting-edge startup based in Paris that offers an innovative AI Security Operations Centre (SOC) platform designed to streamline and enhance security investigations. Recently, the company secured a substantial €25.8 million ($30 million) in funding to further develop its platform.
The funding round was jointly led by Partech and Forgepoint Capital International, with additional participation from EQT Ventures & Growth. The primary goal of this funding is to empower SOC teams to transform alert investigations into valuable security insights, ultimately fortifying their overall security posture.
In April of last year, Qevlar AI announced an additional €9.1 million in funding, bringing their total investor commitments up to €12.8 million. This round was spearheaded by EQT Ventures and Forgepoint Capital International.
The Co-founder and CEO of Qevlar AI, Ahmed Achchak, emphasized the importance of shifting from a reactive to a proactive approach in SOC operations. He stated, “Today, most SOCs measure success by how many alerts they tackle and how quickly they are resolved. But this is a firefighting approach that tells you nothing about your security posture. The only way to understand that is by being able to identify patterns in the trends, and that requires a completely new approach.”
Ahmed Achchak further explained, “We’re moving from autonomous alert investigations to an intelligent AI SOC platform that uncovers insights that transform how teams not only deal with alerts, but stop them from recurring. We’re putting out the fire and finding out what started it to make sure it doesn’t happen again.”
Established in 2023 by AI engineers Ahmed Achchak and Hamza Sayah, Qevlar AI is dedicated to assisting SOCs in converting investigation work into enduring security intelligence.
The company highlights the overwhelming volume of threat alerts that SOC teams must contend with, citing statistics from Forrester and Gartner that underscore the challenging nature of threat detection and response cycles. Without a commensurate increase in resources, SOC teams are confronted with a growing capacity gap.
Qevlar AI’s platform automates the investigation process, undertaking tasks such as data enrichment, alert pattern identification, and reporting. By automating these tasks, analysts are freed from reactive duties and can focus on strategic, proactive activities like threat hunting and incident response planning.
Qevlar AI distinguishes itself from a security copilot by offering a fully autonomous investigation process that delivers clear verdicts without relying on predefined workflows. This approach has resulted in a 10-fold reduction in investigation time for global Fortune 500 enterprises and managed security service providers using the platform.
Reza Malekzadeh, General Partner at Partech, commended Qevlar AI for its transformative potential in the SOC landscape. He stated, “Qevlar AI stands out as a company with the potential to be genuinely transformative; rather than just allow SOCs to process alerts faster, it is giving them the power to tackle the underlying issues.”
The recent funding injection will enable Qevlar AI to expand the capabilities of its platform beyond alert investigations, empowering SOC teams to derive insights into security issues and respond swiftly to mitigate risks.
Qevlar AI’s growth trajectory includes the addition of prominent enterprises such as Mercedes-Benz and Sodexo to its customer base, as well as collaborations with leading managed security service providers like Orange Cyberdefense, ECI, and Atos.
