Koenigsegg Gemera Hits the Production Line: A 6-Year Journey from Unveiling to Reality
After a long wait, the Koenigsegg Gemera has finally begun production, six years after its initial reveal to the public.
Koenigsegg has confirmed that the Gemera assembly line is now operational alongside the CC850. Recent images shared by the company showcase multiple Gemera carbon fiber monocoques awaiting component installation.
Originally unveiled in 2020, the Gemera is classified as a four-seater hypercar by Koenigsegg, dubbed as the “Mega-GT”. Initially planned with a 2.0-liter twin-turbo 3-cylinder plug-in hybrid powertrain, the production model now boasts a 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine paired with three electric motors. This setup generates an impressive 2300 hp and 2028 lb-ft of torque, mated to a 9-speed Light Speed Tourbillon Transmission that distributes power to all four wheels.
The production version of the Gemera showcases various exterior updates, including traditional wing mirrors replacing cameras, along with a rear wing, aggressive front splitter, S-duct, and other aerodynamic components offered as part of the optional Ghost Package.
