Jeep Unveils Trail-Ready Cherokee Trailhawk and Extreme Recon Prototypes
Jeep Unveils Exciting New Concepts at Easter Jeep Safari Event
Jeep recently showcased six new builds ahead of the annual Easter Jeep Safari event in Moab, Utah. The event featured custom takes on two classic Wranglers and a refreshed XJ Cherokee. However, Jeep surprised attendees by revealing two more concepts based on the brand’s latest models: the upcoming Cherokee and the 2026 electric Recon.
The Cherokee Upland, Jeep’s latest creation, offers a more expressive and adventure-forward vision of the SUV. This model represents the second generation of the Cherokee, introduced in 2026. The Upland features a unique front fascia treatment that blackens the area below the grill and headlights. It also boasts an aggressive bumper with integrated tow hooks, additional tow hooks at the back, and a custom roof rack.

The Cherokee Upland is equipped with new 18-inch wheels and 32-inch Falken Wildpeak all-terrain tires, giving it a rugged appearance. Interestingly, the modifications on the Upland concept seem to be production-ready, hinting at potential future releases. This model may serve as a preview of what to expect from the Trailhawk version of the 2026 Jeep Cherokee.
Another highlight of the event was the Recon Overwatch concept, a trail-ready version of the brand’s new electric Wrangler replacement. This concept features a two-inch suspension lift, 34-inch BFGoodrich all-terrain tires, and 18-inch beadlock wheels.

The Recon Overwatch stands out with its unique design, featuring carbon fiber panels on the fender flares and door jam inserts. The absence of doors, rear window, and quarter windows enhances its outdoor appeal. The concept also includes steel rock sliders, front and rear belly skid plates, and aftermarket side mirrors for off-road functionality. An aftermarket roof rack adds practicality to the SUV.

Inside the Recon Overwatch, drivers will find green-wrapped steering wheel and seats, as well as all-weather floor mats for rugged use. While details on the future of the Recon Overwatch remain scarce, Jeep’s focus on showcasing its off-road capabilities through this concept is evident.
