Android 17, the latest update to Google’s operating system, is expected to be released in June 2026. It’ll bring some exciting new features for Android users. But is your phone in line to get it? Find out below.

Since 2025, smartphone manufacturers have been obligated to provide updates for their devices for at least five years. That means that the list is quite similar to that for Android 16. However, some devices will still be dropped from the update cycle this year.

Our overview reveals which smartphones will still be updated and will also receive Android 17. It’s sorted by manufacturer and includes links to our key reviews.

Note: Some manufacturers make clear statements regarding the planned update periods for their devices. Others only adhere roughly to the EU directive. So please treat this information with caution, as things can always change at short notice.

Google Pixel

As is well known, Google will be the first to release an update to Android 17, as it doesn’t need to make any adjustments for its own Pixel smartphones. Thanks to Google’s extended update guarantee, every phone that received Android 16 will get the new update.

Samsung also provides updates for its current smartphones for longer than is legally required. The top-of-the-range models now receive up to seven generations of Android upgrades, while some A-series models receive at least six generations.

Precise details are missing for some budget models. However, as far as we know, these Samsung smartphones should receive Android 17:
