Exploring the Oppo Pad Mini: A First Look Review
The Oppo Pad Mini: A Compact Tablet That Stands Out
Oppo recently unveiled a range of new devices at a launch event in China, with the Find X9 Ultra stealing the spotlight. Among these new devices is the Oppo Pad Mini, a compact tablet that caught the attention of many attendees.
During the event, Oppo showcased the Pad Mini next to the iPad Mini, highlighting its narrow bezels and sleek design. As someone who has been waiting for a compact tablet from Oppo, I was excited to get a firsthand look at the Pad Mini at the event in Chengdu.
Despite only spending a short time with the device, I was impressed by its design and features. The Pad Mini’s slim profile of 5.4mm and lightweight build of 279g make it a portable and convenient option for on-the-go use.
Unlike other Android tablets that can be bulky and heavy, the Pad Mini offers a more manageable size for everyday use. Its metal unibody design, available in Monet Purple, Space Grey, and Mint Green, gives it a premium look and feel.

The standout feature of the Pad Mini is its 8.8-inch AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, 1600 nit peak brightness, and 344 ppi pixel density. The screen’s narrow bezels and vibrant colors make content viewing a delightful experience.

Under the hood, the Pad Mini packs a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, an 8000mAh battery, and 67W wired charging, ensuring smooth performance and long-lasting battery life.
Priced at CNY 3,699 (around £400/$540), the Oppo Pad Mini offers a compelling option for those looking for a compact Android tablet. However, it’s worth noting that the device may only be available in China, leaving international users to explore alternatives like the Oppo Pad 5.
While the Pad Mini may not be coming to the UK, the demand for compact tablets remains high. Fans of mini tablets can look forward to future releases from brands like Xiaomi and Oppo, keeping their fingers crossed for a global launch.
