Amazon snaps up Oprah Winfrey’s podcast

Oprah Winfrey’s Content Coming to Amazon

Exciting news for Oprah Winfrey fans! Reports from The New York Times and Variety reveal that Oprah’s video podcast, Book Club, and Favorite Things will soon be available on Amazon. Starting in July, The Oprah Podcast will release new episodes twice a week on Amazon Prime Video, Amazon Music, Audible, and Fire TV channels.

While the show will continue to be accessible on platforms like YouTube, it will now be part of Amazon’s lineup of celebrity-hosted shows under the Wondery brand. This includes popular shows like New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce, Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard, and Baby, this is Keke Palmer. Last year, Amazon restructured Wondery, keeping creator-led shows under the studio’s name and moving narrative-focused shows such as Dr. Death and American Scandal to Audible.

Amazon’s agreement also includes all 25 seasons of The Oprah Winfrey Show. According to Variety, Amazon is exploring different ways to present the classic TV episodes, such as compiling interviews on specific topics or re-releasing interviews with influential figures who are relevant in today’s culture.
