The Magnificent Maserati MC12: A $9.46 Million Masterpiece

An astounding transaction took place at the Indy 2026 auction as a rare 630 hp Maserati MC12 found a new owner for a jaw-dropping $9.46 million, showcasing its unparalleled uniqueness and allure to the automotive world.

This specific 2005 model, one of a limited production run of only 25 units that year, boasts a striking Bianco Fuji over Blu Victory exterior finish complemented by a meticulously maintained blue leather interior. With a mere 320 miles (515 km) on the odometer, this vehicle remains virtually untouched, preserving its pristine condition.

Beneath its visually arresting design, the Maserati MC12 features a carbon-fibre and Nomex monocoque chassis, reminiscent of the Ferrari Enzo but reinterpreted with a more elongated and purposeful profile. The vehicle is equipped with independent wishbone front and rear suspension, incorporating anti-dive and anti-squat geometries, along with 4-wheel Brembo cross-drilled and ventilated disc brakes for optimal performance.

Powering the Maserati MC12 is a naturally aspirated 6.0-litre V12 engine that generates an impressive 630 hp. Coupled with a six-speed Cambiocorsa gearbox, the driving experience is characterized by a raw, mechanical, and classic feel. With a top speed of 214 mph (345 km/h), the MC12’s performance figures were groundbreaking in its era and remain exceptionally remarkable today.
