Trump Mobile Data Breach Exposes Information of 3,615 Individuals

Reports from PCMag and Straight Arrow News have revealed that Trump Mobile has experienced a data breach, potentially compromising the personal data of 3,615 people. The exposed information includes names, home addresses, emails, phone numbers, and order details.

Confirmation of Leaked Data Accuracy

Upon contacting individuals within the dataset, PCMag and Straight Arrow News received confirmation that the leaked information was indeed accurate. Surprisingly, the data may include individuals who never completed the sign-up process for Trump Mobile, as indicated by a person who shared their email and phone number with the company without setting up an account. Additionally, the breach reportedly involves details concerning Eric Brunnett, the chief information technology officer at The Trump Organization.

BYOD Hacking Group Claims Responsibility

The hacking group known as BYOD has taken responsibility for the potential breach. A member of the group informed PCMag that they infiltrated the phone service by deploying a remote access trojan on an employee of Liberty Mobile, the carrier that supports Trump Mobile’s network. Furthermore, BYOD asserts that they have gained access to the backend of Trump Mobile’s website, as disclosed by Straight Arrow News.

Trump Mobile’s Response

Despite attempts to reach out to Trump Mobile for comment, The Verge has not received an immediate response.
