Why the $700,000 Fine Kept Ferrari Luce EV Under Wraps
The Ferrari Luce EV Unveiling: A Closer Look Behind the Scenes
When it comes to new Ferrari reveals, leaks are often commonplace long before the official unveiling. However, the recent debut of the Ferrari Luce EV took a different approach, staying under wraps until the very last moment due to a hefty $700,000 fine.
Renowned YouTuber Tim Burton, also known as Shmee150, noted that the atmosphere at the reveal event felt unusually controlled, lacking the usual free-flowing and high-energy environment expected at a Ferrari debut.
One of the most surprising aspects of the event was the strict embargo agreements, with penalties as high as $700,000 for any leaks. This significant figure, even in an industry where Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) are common practice, explains the absence of early leaks, a rarity in today’s social media-driven launch events.
Upon arrival, journalists reportedly had their personal devices sealed, prohibiting the use of phones, laptops, and even camera equipment. Instead, Ferrari provided its own crews to capture footage, which was then distributed just before the embargo lifted.

Journalists were granted limited time with the car itself, approximately 30 minutes, under close supervision with PR representatives nearby. This setting was far from ideal for capturing raw, unfiltered impressions.
It appears that Ferrari aimed to control the narrative before the public had a chance to voice their opinions on the Luce. The overall reception and feedback on the car were undoubtedly positive, as expected from a brand like Ferrari.
