Kingdom Hearts Saga Upgraded and Ported to Next-Gen Consoles

Exciting news for Kingdom Hearts fans as Square Enix announces the full Kingdom Hearts saga is receiving an upgrade and will be ported to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. The highly anticipated release date is set for 8th October 2026.

The KINGDOM HEARTS Collection [I~III] will be available for purchase as an all-in-one bundle, catering to fans who want to experience the entire saga in one go. Alternatively, each chapter can be purchased separately, including KINGDOM HEARTS -HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX-, KINGDOM HEARTS HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, and KINGDOM HEARTS III + Re Mind (DLC).

One cannot ignore the peculiar naming conventions of the remastered collections throughout the years, sparking both amusement and bewilderment among players.

A major update for Nintendo Switch 2 users is the native compatibility of the games, eliminating the need for ‘Cloud ver.’ versions that were previously played remotely on the Switch 1. A demo of Kingdom Hearts 3 is already available for Switch 2, showcasing gameplay from the beginning to Olympus, with the option to carry over save data. However, progression beyond Toy Box World will not allow save data transfer.

Players can take advantage of upgrade pricing, with a generous 50% discount on digital purchases from the previous generation to Switch 2, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. While Switch 1 users can transfer save data to Switch 2, this feature is notably absent for Xbox and PlayStation platforms, leaving fans questioning the reasoning behind this discrepancy.
