Google’s NotebookLM can sum up your research in a TikTok-style clip

Google Introduces TikTok-Style AI Videos for Note-taking with NotebookLM

Google has announced a new feature for its NotebookLM service that allows users to create AI-generated videos similar to TikTok. This new feature is specifically designed for Google AI Ultra and Pro subscribers, enabling them to generate 60-second vertical AI clips based on the content they upload to the app.

One example shared by Google showcases Australia’s infamous war on emus, depicted through paper cutout-style AI art of emus accompanied by narration. This feature adds to the existing ways in which NotebookLM allows users to engage with their research, such as generating AI podcasts, cinematic videos, and visual explainers.

To create a 60-second AI video clip, users can visit NotebookLM on the web or app, select a notebook, and then choose “Video” from the Studio column on the right side of the screen. After selecting “Short,” users can choose the topic they want the AI to focus on (or input their own topic) before clicking the “Generate” button.

Although the feature is currently only available in English, Google has stated that support for free users will be coming “soon.”
