Apple’s Silence on Jon Prosser Lawsuit Response Leaves Industry Guessing
Apple Lawsuit Update: Jon Prosser’s Response Awaited
Jon Prosser, who is currently facing a lawsuit from Apple for allegedly stealing trade secrets, recently revealed to The Verge that he has been in contact with Apple since the case began. However, Apple, in a recent filing reported by MacRumors, stated that Prosser has not yet indicated whether he will respond to the complaint or when he plans to do so.
When contacted for comment by The Verge, Prosser did not immediately reply. Apple’s lawsuit, filed against Prosser and another individual, Michael Ramacciotti, in July, accuses them of orchestrating a scheme to obtain and profit from Apple’s trade secrets by accessing a development iPhone. A default judgment was entered against Prosser last week, allowing the case to progress with Apple seeking damages and an injunction against him.
In the recent filing, Apple mentioned that they intend to pursue a default judgment against Prosser. Additionally, statements from Ramacciotti were included, where he admitted providing information about iOS 26 to Prosser but denied any conspiracy or intent to monetize the information. Ramacciotti claimed that there was no prior arrangement for compensation when he shared the details with Prosser. The filing also revealed that Apple and Ramacciotti have engaged in settlement discussions.
