In a significant announcement from Bethesda, the gaming giant has officially confirmed that the highly anticipated Fallout 3 remaster is in the works, and not only that, but a remaster of Fallout: New Vegas is also on the horizon.

While no specific release dates have been revealed at this time, Bethesda stated, “We have been actively working on remasters for both Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas.”

Although details are scarce, it is expected that these remasters will be primarily handled in-house by Bethesda, similar to the approach taken with The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. It is worth noting that part of the remaster process for Oblivion was outsourced to Virtuos.

Adding to the excitement of the Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas remasters is the revelation that Fallout 5 has officially entered pre-production, with Bethesda taking the lead on development. Additionally, fans will be delighted to learn that Obsidian Entertainment is also confirmed to be working on a new Fallout title.
